Environmental Policy

Ashfield Grounds Maintenance Limited company deals with all aspects of landscaping and grounds maintenance. As a company working within the natural environment, we are highly aware of the significance of protection of the environment.

We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment in terms of waste generation, use of raw materials & emissions to air and water - as well as our responsibility to help protect the environment wherever we have an opportunity and be a responsible neighbour.

As such, we are committed to:

• Continual improvement in the environmental impact of its business activities

• Improving the environmental benefits provided by its services

• Preventing pollution wherever possible

• Complying with all relevant legal, customer, and other third party requirements

• Adopting best practices applicable to its activities wherever it is practical to do so

We will achieve these commitments through the following means:

• The implementation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System that is independently certified as compliant with ISO 14001:2004

• Employing processes that identify the aspects of the Company’s business that have an environmental impact and quantifying the significance of each aspect

• Setting objectives for reducing our environmental impact and maintaining an environmental performance improvement programme to enable this achievement

• Ensuring that our employees, suppliers and clients are aware of any support required by them to support the Company’s commitments and environmental objectives

• Training our employees in good environmental protection practices and encouraging employee involvement in environmental improvement initiatives

• We will review our waste production and research the most suitable and environmentally sound methods of disposal, such as composting of green waste

• We will research less polluting methods of working, such as using biodiesel and / or using LPG fuelled vehicles when the technology and availability become more widespread

• We will recycle materials wherever possible, on client sites and in our offices

• When working on a site it is our intention to keep the site as tidy as possible at all times and to avoid causing a nuisance to our neighbours. Control measures will be put in place where possible to minimise pollution from emissions of dust and noise

• Continually monitoring the environmental impact of its business activities

The implementation of this Environmental Policy is fundamental to the success of Ashfield Grounds Maintenance’s business and must be supported by all employees as an integral part of their daily work.
